SKILLS BOOTCAMPS
Skills Bootcamps offer flexible courses of up to 16 weeks that are free to learners*. If you are unemployed, self-employed or an employer looking to upskill your staff we have funding opportunities that can vastly reduce the cost of training with us and in some cases fully fund it.
* Based on the size of the business, employers may have to pay a small contribution.
Skills Bootcamps provide flexible hands-on courses of up to 16 weeks in duration, which are part of the government’s commitment for individuals to have access to Skills for Life.
Skills Bootcamps aim to help participants to find jobs in a range of growing sectors across specific regions in England and help employers, and self-employed learners, to close skills gaps in these specified areas. The programme is funded by the Department for Education and developed locally by specified councils or authorities, working closely with local employers.
Skills Bootcamps are available for adults aged 19 or over and, for most, you do not need to have any previous knowledge in the subject. You just need to speak a good level of English and have a willingness to learn.
Some courses may have additional entry requirements, such as certain qualifications or experience or requirements on the location of your home or work. If there are any, they will be listed in the relevant course details.

The key thing is that the training must have a positive impact on you or your staff’s job role. This is usually in the form of one of the following:
If you are self-employed you could still be eligible for funding if you can show that you will be able to take on new work or offer a new service once trained. If in doubt please fill out an application form and we will call you to discuss the options.
If you claim Universal Credit, you can apply and continue to claim benefits.
Some Skills Bootcamps have additional eligibility criteria. Contact the training provider to check if you’re eligible and apply for the course.
