The rail sector is traditionally a male dominated industry, but Intertrain (UK) Ltd is looking to change that.
Intertrain’s Women in Rail Event
Intertrain, our specialist rail training provider, hosted an event for the railway sector to consider how they can encourage more women into the industry and how they can support them once they’re onboard.
Janet Hecter, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager and Apprentice lead at McGinley Support Services (Infrastructure) Ltd said:
We need to figure out what women are looking for in a career […] and then see how, as an employer, we can make those adjustments to makes it easier for them to apply.
At City and Guilds Training, we look forward to the exciting times ahead in improving equal opportunities and diversity within the rail industry. Our collaborative approach and commitment to supporting employers and learners to develop the skills they need to thrive ensures that there will be more ways for women to gain, and progress in, a career in the rail industry.
