At City & Guilds Training, we are committed to helping individuals with an offending background overcome barriers to employment on leaving prison. In order to successfully help prisoners through training courses and into jobs upon release, we need employer commitment and support.
If this feels like something you and your business would be interested in, please get in touch.
Funded by the Department for Education’s Skills Bootcamps and facilitated by City & Guilds Training, our prison training and rehabilitation scheme equips prisoners with industry-standard training, while guaranteeing them employment on release. As such, we can deliver real social impact, helping ex-offenders turn their lives around, with the prospect of a future, on the outside.
To achieve this we need the support of employers who wish to give back to their communities and contribute to offender rehabilitation by offering employment for prisoners upon release. In doing so, employers will fill vital skills gaps whilst supporting individuals to turn their lives around.
Prison Training & Rehabilitation
At City & Guilds Training we are delighted to now be offering industry-leading construction training as part of our prisoner rehabilitation programme.
In partnership with Lynch, we have recently opened a Construction Plant training centre at HMP Highpoint which will help us to train the next generation of Plant Operators in the Construction industry, providing guaranteed, sustainable employment on release from prison. We are currently offering qualifications in the following competencies:
Career in Plant
In order to support prisoners in this one-of-a-kind initiative, we need employers who are willing to give ex-offenders paid employment upon completion of their training.
At City & Guilds Training, we currently offer a Level 2 Diploma and PAT Testing Course as part of our prisoner training.
In order to support prisoners through this, we need employers who are willing to give ex-offenders paid employment upon completion of their training.

We offer a range of rail training courses as part of our prisoner training and rehabilitation scheme.
We work especially closely with HMP Highpoint, where our training schemes are effectively reducing reoffending rates while providing access to sustainable employment in the rail sector.
In fact, since its introduction, the programme has delivered ten rail track skills courses with a success rate of 70% going into employment.
